Yesterday was a great evening. New friends, new routes.

If you come better you have your Beta right!! Something you learn very early on in the our Baobab  is how tricky it can be to read the route you’re trying.

Our Baobab offers many different routes.Yesterday some of our climbers learn their Beta

In the world of rock climbing, Beta is information about a route. The term has essentially become a synonym for “sequence,” i.e. the sequence of hand and foot movements. But it can also refer to much more than that. When Climber A gives Climber B “the Beta,” she is giving him information about how she climbs the route – the sequence of hand movements, which holds to stop and rest on, subtle foot placements, where a heel hook works best, etc

January 31st Astronomy night! Orion and the winter stars.

Come at 7.30 pm , we will be around the baobab, bring tea, a sandwich and your binoculars.

We will look for Betelgeuse and the Orion Nebulae, we will try to find Aldebaran and Sirius and we will take a look at Mars.

If you are one of those that likes to wake up early, there is a nice surprise these days in the Gambia sky, from 4am to 7 am you can see Crux, yes, the “Southern Cross” constellation. you can also easily spot Venus and Jupiter.

See below Venus and Jupiter making a line nearly parallel to the horizon.24th January 2019 at 6.00 am

“B-Wall”,A wall for beginners?

The team has been working hard to set a wall for beginners, the “B Wall”.

The B-wall is more than a beginners wall though, it will allow you to start you projects from a different place and combine different level of difficulty.
